Subject: Flag of Philosateleia

First Day of Use: January 7, 2004 (SY164)
The flag of Philosateleia was adopted in late 2003 (SY164). The white background stands for purity, while the black mock-perforation fringe honors the satellite's strong ties to philately. The upper right corner of the flag bears the Philosateleian postmark; the circle represents Philosateleia as a whole, and each of the cancellation bars represents one of the five administrative regions.
Of the 120 stamps issued, one copy exists in unused condition. 11 more copies are known on cover, on piece, or off cover, and two first day of use covers were produced. Finally, nine remainder copies were invalidated with a handstamped smiley face. (Additional examples may exist, but have not been confirmed.)
In addition to the regularly issued stamp, a provisional envelope is known.
